Kobelco SK210LC-11 Excavator Extends Intelligent Hydraulic Control and 270-Degree Camera Safety to the 21-Ton Class

Oct 25, 2026

Kobelco continues to position the SK210LC-11 as the anchor of its next-generation -11 Series excavator range - a roughly 21-ton-class conventional-tail-swing crawler excavator powered by a Yanmar Tier IV Final compliant engine delivering 160 net horsepower and 577 lb-ft of torque at 1,500 rpm. The SK210LC-11 pairs its engine output with 35,300 lbs of bucket digging force and a lifting capacity of 16,660 lbs, positioning it for general earthmoving, trenching, site preparation, and material handling applications where dig force, cycle speed, and operator comfort determine productivity per operating hour.

The machine's defining engineering feature is Kobelco's "Intelligent Total Control System" - the manufacturer's intelligent hydraulics architecture that continuously matches pump output to operator demand, delivering high efficiency across the full range of digging and lifting cycles. Combined with an all-new hydraulic control system that responds to shorter lever strokes than previous models - delivering swifter, more precise movement and improved lever operability - the SK210LC-11 reduces operator fatigue during extended shifts while maintaining the precision required for fine grading and material placement. The machine is also equipped with a fully automatic engine and hydraulic warm-up system that warms the hydraulic circuit to an optimum 126°F (52°C) before full-power operation, reducing component wear during cold-weather start-up cycles.

The SK210LC-11's safety and operator environment centers on a "3-Sides Safety Camera System" with a high-resolution 10-inch color monitor - displaying right, left, and rear camera views simultaneously to provide a full 270-degree view around the machine and eliminating the blind spots that traditionally limit excavator slewing safety in congested job sites. The operator can customize the multi-camera display layout and select operational features through an intuitive jog dial, while a standard 12-volt power outlet, USB charger, Bluetooth hands-free telephone radio, smartphone holder, and LED interior door light complete the in-cab environment. The adjustable-height joysticks and heated air-ride suspension seat adapt to operators of different sizes and preferences, and an in-cab hydraulic-pressure release function allows work tools or hoses to be changed easily and safely without leaving the seat. The hydraulic flow-rate modes for bucket, breaker, nibbler, and rotating grapple attachments are fully adjustable through the monitor, and pre-installed mounting brackets for 2D or 3D grade-control systems eliminate the need for field welding and painting when upgrading to machine guidance. Combined with the machine's iNDCR (SCR-only) emissions solution - the industry's first selective catalytic reduction approach for excavators that eliminates the DPF regeneration cycles conventional Tier IV machines require - and a ROPS/FOPS certified cab, the SK210LC-11 positions itself as a direct competitor to the Komatsu PC210, Caterpillar 320, Hitachi ZX210, Volvo EC220E, and JCB 220X in the global 21-ton excavator segment.
